My latest YouTube video is a timelapse video of me painting a male nude called “Enrique on the Terrace.” I’m showing the painting process as a way of demonstrating an approach called “working all over the painting” which is designed to keep you from getting bogged down in details in a way that could compromise the overall painting. If you’ve experienced getting caught up in details and having a hard time staying aware of how all the parts of your painting are working together (or not working together), you might find this approach helpful.
