I recently got a new phone, and one of the main reasons for that was so that I could shoot time-lapse videos of myself drawing and painting. (For those who are interested, I got a Samsung Galaxy J6+ Android phone and the app is called LapseIt. I’m pretty happy with both.)
With my new equipment, I shot a time-lapse video of myself painting a landscape of Quimixto, a beach town not far from my home in Puerto Vallarta. The time-lapse was set to 1 frame every second, which means an hour-plus of painting got compressed to less than 4 minutes. You can now see the finished video, called “Douglas Simonson Paints a Landscape,” on YouTube. Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/ed1QoZt5cB8.
