Simonson Archives 1990
In 1990 went to France with a couple of my best friends, and in Nice I found a gay beach, which is where I met Moroccan boy Mustapha. I also photographed Japanese hunk Paul S. in San Francisco that year. 1990 is also the year I began taking my show on the road, flying from Hawaii with an assistant and crates full of art to do live shows in cities like New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, and LA. It was in Los Angeles at a West Hollywood gym that I met Chris B., who became one of my favorite models that year.
