1988 was the year I met Michael R., the Thai boy who became one of my favorite and best models ever. As was often the case, it was my friend Gina who found him and arranged for him to model. Michael dominated my drawing and painting that year, and he was the model for Waahila, one of my best paintings ever. It’s also the year my friend Bruce S. modeled for me
