Project 2272: The Painting is Finished!

The painting is complete, and it’s been titled “Mixto Quente”! Thanks for following its creation process. Project 2271: Fourth and Final Painting Session

December 22, 2025

In this final session, I add finishing touches to the face, paying special attention to the subtleties of the dappled light, and finish the blurry palm fronds and sand and sea of the background. And the painting is finished!

Project #2272: First Painting Session

December 16, 2025

In the first painting session, after transferring the image to canvas with pencil, I covered it with an acrylic wash. Once that was dry, I started adding color. I started with the darkest darks in the head, then added some color for the sky and the sand behind the figure–I like to start blocking in color with the darkest and largeste areas of color.

1. Project 2272: New Painting of Mixed Asian-Brazilian Guy on Beach
