The painting is complete! Right now, “Manzana” is appearing temporarily in the Collector Preview Gallery. As a subscriber to the Simonson website you have access to this gallery–just click on the button below.

Here are some stills from my first studio session on the new Juan Pablo painting. Unlike with the majority of my paintings, I didn’t do a pencil sketch first–just plunged in and mapped out the entire figure just using a warm brown mix and white. Scarier, but definitely more exciting and more rewarding when it works!
