SIMONSON DIGITAL BOOKS: Model Sessions Part 3

These books are centered on a single model—an extended look at one individual over the course of a session or series of sessions. The focus is on presence, variation, and the subtle shifts that emerge through sustained observation: changes in light, pose, mood, and attention. Each volume builds a more complete sense of the figure, not as a single image, but as an unfolding study over time.

BRIAN

Brian brings together Douglas Simonson’s photographs of a lean, muscular model amid the black lava rocks, tidal pools, and breaking surf of O‘ahu’s dramatic coastline. Captured in natural Hawaiian light, the images move between quiet intensity and spontaneous joy, revealing both the beauty of the male figure and Brian’s easy, engaging presence.

BRIAN: BOOK 2

Created in response to public demand, Brian Book 2 explores Douglas Simonson’s Hawaiian photo session more deeply, presenting photographs not seen in the first collection. Hawaii-born and of Chinese descent, Brian brings a combination of physical beauty, natural ease, and a sweet personality to images set amid O‘ahu’s lava rocks, tidal pools, and surf.

CAMILO

The Camilo e-book presents more than 50 photographs of the Colombian model who became Douglas Simonson’s first subject after his move to Mexico in 2014. Set in the artist’s rustic, light-filled Puerto Vallarta home, the collection pairs studies of the male figure with Simonson’s story of discovering Camilo and their photo session together.

JEFF

Jeff brings together 95 photographs from two sessions with a handsome, muscular model whose mischievous charm made him a memorable subject for Douglas Simonson. Set amid rustic architecture, lush greenery, and flowing water, the images capture the beauty of Jeff’s tattooed figure alongside his confidence and playful personality.

VICTOR

Victor brings together 140 photographs of a Nigeria-born U.S. Marine who became both a model and a friend to Douglas Simonson. Photographed at a Hawaiian beach and in a private tropical pool and garden, Victor reveals a remarkable physique and an open, generous personality, with the story of their meeting accompanying the images.
